In Loving Memory ~

Boyd Brian Weir, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend began his next adventure as he'd come to call it, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on February 10, 2024.

Boyd's legacy will be remembered and shared by his wife Ruth, daughter Veronica (Jason) and son Timothy (Charday), his brothers Gerald (Linda), Thom (Marilyn), his brother Dan's wife Audrey as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

And let's not forget his furbabies and grandfurbabies. He is now alongside his brother Dan and his mother and father, Doris and Norman.

Boyd was born May 22, 1956 in Milden SK and grew up in Bounty, SK. He attended the University of Saskatchewan where he met the love of his life Ruth.

The two married March 1, 1980 and started their lives together in Saskatchewan. The Weir family expanded with the birth of their children Veronica (1985) and Timothy (1988) and with their respective spouses Jason (2014) and Charday (2023).

The Weir family also couldn't stay put between travels and moving but two things were certain: 1. Home was wherever his family was; 2. You'd find a Saskatchewan Rider flag proudly displayed wherever he lived - Saskatchewan, Alberta, Norway, Texas, British Columbia. As Boyd would say 'Rider Nation knows no borders.' Along with his family, four-legged included, and the Riders, Boyd loved his travels, curling and being the life of any party or gathering.

That's the Boyd we hope all will remember. He's deeply loved, missed and the memories of him will be forever shared amongst family and friends.

There will not be a funeral for Boyd's passing but on August 10, 2024 there will be a celebration of his life at 40 Knots Winery on Vancouver Island. Boyd would prefer you wear Rider attire. Or at the very least green. Alternatively, Boyd also encouraged everyone to really support their team, so you could, if you have to, support whatever team that is, whatever sport.

More details will be shared regarding the celebration of his life in due time.

We also want to express the biggest thank you to family and friends; for your kind words, thoughts, prayers, laughter and meals over the last almost two years and since Boyd's passing. We are grateful to MAID for making Boyd's final wishes possible.

We would also like to thank his entire care team especially the doctors, nurses and care aides at Comox Valley Cancer Care and Comox Palliative /Homecare. Thank you everyone, from the bottom of our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Cancer or Diabetes. Thank you.
