In Loving Memory ~

Billie Dancer, a resident of Comox Valley, British Columbia died peacefully at her care home at Ocean Front Village, Courtenay on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

She will be remembered by her children Daryl Ann Dancer, Susan (Steve) Woodbeck, Alison (Brad) Orr, Thomas (Valerie) Dancer, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, sister Bette Hastings and many more family members and friends.

Billie was pre-deceased by her husband Tom of 48 years, sisters Joyce and Shirley, parents Florence and Bill Hastings.

Billie was born in 1933 and raised on a farm in Marchand, Manitoba. She married and lived in Winnipeg until 1973. She then called Thunder Bay, Ontario home for 37 years where she owned her store, the Hobby House, as well as worked for the Salvation Army and was an active member of the Master's Swim Club.

Tom and Billie enjoyed much of their time at their cottage at Little Trout Bay in Neebing, Ontario. Billie moved to the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, BC where she kept busy with numerous walking groups, camera clubs and spending lots of time gardening.

Billie will long be remembered for her strong work ethic and solid character (warm and fuzzy).

Billie's final resting spot will be at the Cloud Bay Cemetery in the Municipality of Neebing, Ontario later this year where she will be placed along side her husband Tom.

For those wishing to honor Billie's memory with a donation, consideration to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be much appreciated.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the awesome staff of Ocean Front Village for the wonderful care they provided during Billie's stay as well as the VIHA home care staff that assisted her while she lived in her home in Comox, BC.
