“We Love Our Gee”

By Alisha Ovington

As goodbye grows close

All I want to say is I love you.

Cherishing all the time we shared,

And regretting those moments we didn’t.

Your rosy cheeks never faded,

And your smile hung on.

But always rememberÉ

Remember Mickey Mouse

and Donald Duck,

Remember Pa’s songs

and the tunes he whistled,

And remember how you

braided my hair, and put

notes in my lunch.

As time grows close,

Know we will always be there.

Know we love you,

And hold it in your heart.

Take these three words

with you when you go,

And let your spirit hold them.

No matter the times of the season

Those words always hold true,

We love you.

Always remember,

never forgotten,

Held dear in our hearts.

Know that it’s okay,

We understand,

But know we will miss

you because

We love you!
