Harrison, Bernard Henry (Buzz)
1923 ~ 2003
Buzz passed away at Kamloops in the early morning hours of August 22, 2003 at the age of 80. Buzz was predeceased by his wife Doreen in 1997. He is survived by his son George (Bobbie) and grandchildren Katie (Mike), Bruce (Trina) and Mary-Beth. He is also survived by his brothers Charlie and Robin and their families.
Buzz was born in Nakusp and moved to Cranbrook at an early age. He spent four years in the Canadian Navy during World War 2. After the war he and Doreen began a logging business on Kootenay Lake. In 1949 he started a 34 year career with Cominco working at operations in Riondel, Benson Lake, Salmo and Trail. Buzz retired to Courtenay in 1983 and subsequently moved to Kamloops in the fall of 2002. He was an avid fisherman all his life and, along with his wife, spent many memorable hours fishing steelhead and coho on northern Vancouver Island. He was also an accomplished woodworker producing many pieces of furniture for his home as well as for others. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Outram and all the girls on 7 North at RIH for their support over the past couple of weeks. Also our heartfelt thanks to the staff and Buzz’s friends at Berwick on the Park. You made a difference in Buzz’s life in the last year.
