Arthur Woodley passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday, May 5th, 2003, aged 69. Art is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Anne; their 4 sons, Bill (Cathy), David (Sharon), Rick and Doug (Lynne); 9 grandchildren, Kevin, Jackie, Denise (Robert), Michael, Mathew, Joseph, Jessica, Ty and Zak; his brothers Roy (Rhea), Jim and Brian; sister-in-law Pat Woodley; nephew Murray (Janet), niece Kristin and nephew Dustin. Art will be dearly missed by his family, KVA comrades, fellow employees at the Comox Valley School District, where he worked for 28 years and was active with CUPE Local 439, serving on its executive, the Merville Community Association, the Centennial Committee and the Comox Valley Minor Hockey Association where he was well-known as “Coach”. Art’s family and friends will gather for a Celebration of his Life at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD on Friday, May 9th at 1:00 pm with Padre Duke Warren officiating. Following cremation, internment will take place in Enderby, B.C., where he was born. Should friends desire, donations in Art’s memory to the Salvation Army, 1580 Fitzgerald, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 2S2 or the Korea Veterans Association, Unit 39, Box 2385, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 5N3 of which he was Past President, would be appreciated.
