Gagnon, Arthur Leo “Art”
Art Gagnon passed away in Comox, B.C. on November 5th, 2004. He was predeceased by his parents John and Florie Gagnon, his brother Lorne, and his brother-in-law Ab Slivinski. Art is survived and will be lovingly missed by his wife Pat, his sons Larry of Comox and Kevin of Pickering, Ontario, his daughters Patti (Ron) Venturini of North Vancouver and Janice (Tom) Warner of London, Ontario, his grandchildren Shannon and Jason Venturini and Jordan and Kieran Warner, his brothers Earl, Orin (Bev) and Mike, his sisters Shirley Kelly and Yvonne (Denis) DeGagne as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Art was a member of the Elks Clown Band in Thunder Bay, Ontario and the Old Time Fiddle Club in the Comox Valley. He worked for Canadian Grain Commission from 1951 until he retired in 1989. In his leisure time Art played piano with the Fiddle Club, enjoyed the outdoors and nature and went fishing, hunting camping and just walking in the woods. He also enjoyed gardening and had a large vegetable garden for many years. Art was kind-hearted and always eager to lend a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor and always had jokes to tell. He stayed close to his roots and loved the Saturday night gatherings at his parents’ house with music and card games. A Funeral Service was held at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY, B.C. on Tuesday, November 9th, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Interment followed at Courtenay Civic Cemetery
