(1923 - 2005)

born in Vancouver, B.C. on February 11, 1923, passed away January 3, 2005 in Comox, B.C. He leaves to mourn his wife of 58 years, Nieta, and sons Jock (Marlene) and Jim, as well as brothers William (Harriet) and Deane (Joan), several nieces and nephews, and numerous close friends. From 1953 to 1976, Archie and Nieta owned and operated Finlayson Furniture in Courtenay and Campbell River. During this period, Archie was a popular figure in the local business community. After selling his business, he continued to work in sales until 1994. Throughout his long business career Archie was recognized for treating customers and employees with respect and dignity. He will be remembered as a man with a wonderful sense of humour, a kind heart, and a generous spirit. Neighbours and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Archie’s life on Saturday, January 8 at Crown Isle Golf and Country Club from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.n Casual Dress. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Archie are invited to make a contribution to a charity of their choice.
