Chornomydz - Annie of Union Bay, formerly of Kamsack, Sask. passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2002 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, aged 92. Predeceased by her parents: Wasyl and Mary Reminek, husband Mike, infant son John, brothers John and Mike, sister Pat and her daughter-in-law Rosemary. She is survived by her sons Ernest Chadler of Ottawa and Don Chronomydz of Union Bay and her daughter Sharon (Glen) Branconnier of Comox. Also survived by her brother Wilfred (Sonya) Reminek of Maple Ridge and her sisters Nellie Werbowetski of Lenswood, Manitoba, Kay Rauckman of Comox, Mary Zaporzan of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba and Lorraine (Edwin) Deederly of Port Alberni.
Mike and Annie farmed in Fort Peley, Sask; retired to Kamsack together and when Mike passed away; Annie moved to Comox Valley to be closer to her family. Annie was an active member of Kamsack United Church Ladies Group and enjoyed her flower and vegetable garden and knitting. Special thanks to all the St. Joseph’s Hospital staff on 1st and 2nd floors and to Dr. Robert Clarke and Chaplain Gordon Carter. A Celebration of Annie’s Life will take place at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 Ryan Road at a later date.
