ALOYSIUS JOSEPHUS

“A.J.” LEFEBER

October 2nd, 1927 — September 4th, 2004

“Lou” passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on September 4th, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He will be missed by his loving wife Mini, children; Jan (Jane), Nancy (Stan) and Rudy (Leslie), grandchildren; Damera, Tessa, Byron, Dustin, Kyler and Jesse. He also leaves a sister Annie and brothers Joh and Jos. Louie was born in Holland and started his career as a baker at an early age. In 1956 the family emigrated to Canada and settled in Victoria, B.C. Having worked as a baker for others, Lou fulfilled the ambition of owning his own bakery in 1967 which started a string of stores in the Victoria area. Lou then moved to the Comox Valley in 1978 where he began AJ’s Bakery and Coffee Shop. “AJ” as he was known to many, loved fishing, aquariums, birds, and in general building things from fishponds to renovating houses. His favorite saying was “ I don’t have time, I’m too busy” although he would always be there to help anyone out. Louie fought a long, courageous fight with cancer and heart disease. We will always love you Pap and will miss you always. A Service in remembrance of his life will take place from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD on Saturday, September 11th, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Peter Rabey officiating, followed by fellowship and refreshments in “The Garden Room and Outdoor Patio” of the funeral home. Should friends so desire, donations in Lou’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 — 1509 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 2K6 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, P.O. Box 1225, Comox, B.C. V9N 7Z8 would be appreciated.
