In Loving Memory ~

Al was born in Powell River and moved to Union Bay in 1941. He worked for Tahsis Logging Company and in 1962 moved to the Gold River Beach Camp with his wife Ellen and three kids in tow: Doug, Ron and Terry.

In 1965, Gold River townsite was established and they moved to their new home, soon after came the addition of two more children, Lisa and Steven.

His work here included boom foreman and woods foreman over the contractors. Although busy with five kids and many friends, the Kennedy's were involved with fastball, hockey, hunting, and fishing. Al also coached hockey and fastball, they left Gold River in 1985 to pursue new adventures and returned in 2010.

During this time they were the Courtenay Fish & Game caretakers at Comox Lake for 5 ½ years. They were able to fully enjoy their retirement years gardening, camping, fishing and their passion, watching sports on TV.

Al has joined his son Ron and our family is sure they are out fishing and perhaps tipping a lucky or two.

He was predeceased by his brothers; Harold (Donna-Rae), Don (Lue) and son Ron (Debbie).

He is survived by his loving wife Ellen of 67 years, sons; Doug (Kathy), Steve (Samantha), daughters; Terry (Gord), Lisa (Doug), daughter-in-law Debbie, brother Wayne (Donna) and 16 grand-children.

He will be forever missed by family and friends. There will be no service by his request.

We will forever miss him "Dad"

Until we meet again
