Aline Ruth Hoffart (nee Ives) passed on June 9th surrounded by her family after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
The youngest of 7, she was born in Vancouver on January 18th, 1959. Aline moved to the mountains after high school, with her husband, David where they started their family, having sons Nathan and Aaron, and daughter Naomi. They later moved to Vancouver Island where they had their daughter Charlotte and settled into life in the Comox Valley, Aline happy to be back near the ocean.
Aline was a life-long artist who had a tremendous gift for portraiture and was proud to earn a BFA from NIC and Emily Carr University. She loved to play Scrabble with her best friend Rosemary and was fiercely loyal to her family and friends. Aline was welcoming and respectful to everyone she met and had immense love for her grandkids.
She found deep comfort in her Catholic faith and loved to share this with others, especially her mother, Anne who spent the remaining years of her life with Aline and David.
There will be a service held at Christ the King Catholic church on Friday June 23rd at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local suicide prevention and mental health organizations.
