Alexander Stevenson Jackson

Jackson - Alexander Stevenson “Alex” of Courtenay, passed away suddenly in Richmond on Tuesday, August 26th, 2003, aged 83. Predeceased by his twin brother Alan and younger brother Ken. He is survived and will be lovingly missed by his wife of 58 years, Joan; daughter Ann (Rick) Millman of St. Albert, Alberta; son Don Jackson of Richmond; grandsons Ryan of Surrey and Alexander and Matthew, both of St. Albert; sister Joyce Compeau of Quesnel; sisters-in-law Evelyn Jackson of Port Colborne, Ontario; Anna Nicholson of Whiskey Creek, B.C. and Moira Shea of Sherbrooke, Quebec; his cousins Ann McGregor of Whitecourt, Alberta and Isabel Johnson (Lin) of Summerland, B.C.; many nieces and nephews across Canada as well as his very special friends Mildred Calman of Courtenay and Bob and Michele White of Surrey. Alex served with the RCAF from 1939 to 1945 and in his leisure enjoyed time in his garden and woodworking. He and Joan moved to the Comox Valley in 1951 and for 20 years, Alex worked for CANFOR at Woss Lake and Vernon Lake. A gathering of family and friends in celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, September 2nd at 1:00 pm from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay. For those wishing, donations in his memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, P.O. Box 1225, Comox, B.C. V9N 7Z8 would be appreciated.
