Alexander John Doleman

DOLEMAN - ALEXANDER JOHN, “Alex” of Courtenay, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, June 4th, 2002, aged 78. “Scotty”, as he was affectionately known, immigrated to Cumberland from his native Auchinairn, Glasgow, Scotland in 1952. He was an avid soccer player, brining his skills to the Cumberland team, which won the O.B. Allen Cup. After retiring as a player, he continued with soccer in various other capacities into his 60’s. For over 22 years, Soc Scotty worked tirelessy with Branch 28, Royal Canadian Legion, Cumberland, serving with the executive, as Vice-President and as Service Officer. Alex is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife of 25 years, Lenore; sons David (Pat), Alexander John (Kathleen) and Jackie (Lynette); daughter Patricia (Jamie); step-sons Gary Palmiere and Frank (Lori) Palmiere as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 10th at 9:00 am from Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, with Father Joe Killoran, celebrant. Interment will follow at Cumberland Municipal Cemetery.
