Stockand, Albert Richard
Richard passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2nd after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 22, 1952 in Cumberland General Hospital and lived almost all of his life in Cumberland. He worked his entire life for MacMillan/Bloedel (Weyerhauser) in Kelsey Bay. Richard enjoyed cooking, fishing and hunting, and was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. He was a very good and loyal friend to many, a wonderful husband and a much loved father and grandfather. He will be forever missed by his wife of 25 years, Trish, his daughters Cheryl, Brenda, and Amy, his father and mother Albert & Ruby, his sister Audrey (Lee) and brother Jimmy (Shelley), his brothers and sisters-in-law Tom, Tricia, Brook and Mary, his nephews and niece Allen, Michael, Jessie, Anthony, Patrick, Michelle, Tyler and Brandon, numerous other relatives and his wonderful friends who have been so supportive. Richard was a devoted “Pa-Pa” and his memory will be cherished by his granddaughter Nicole. He was predeceased by both sets of grandparents, his auntie Audrey, uncle Bud, uncle Sam and auntie Sissy. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 1:00 p.m. at the Cumberland United Church followed by a Tea at the Cumberland Cultural Center (upstairs). Flowers gratefully declined in lieu of donations in Richard’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (Melanoma Research) or Y.A.N.A.
