In Loving Memory ~

Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Adeline Sylvia Levy, passed away unexpectedly on May 19th, 2024 after a short illness.

Addie was born on February 18th, 1943 in the small town of Lamont, Alberta, the middle child of 5.

She was predeceased by her parents; Thomas and Mary, her two siblings; Ron and Rose and her husband of 49 years; Clyde Levy.

After graduating from Lamont High School, Addie moved to Edmonton where she worked as a secretary. Here, she met her first husband, Randy Holt, and 2 years later Cheryl, their daughter was born.

In 1972, Addie, Lev {her second husband and love of her life} and Cheryl, were posted to Baden Soellingen, Germany where they lived in the small town of Hugelsheim. They spent 6 wonderful and exciting years travelling over 19 countries in Europe such as Cyprus, Bulgaria, France and Israel just to name a few.

Europe is where Addie developed her passion for photography and took thousands of wonderful pictures of her time spent in Europe. One of Addie's fondest memories was of their favorite restaurant, nicknamed "the garlic factory" just over the border in Alsace, France where they ate many delicious French meals.

After a short 2 year posting in Cold Lake, Alberta, Addie and Lev planted their roots in the Comox Valley where they built and enjoyed their final home. Addie worked for the Government of Canada, for 15 years, as an investigator for Employment Insurance of BC and retired at the age of 55.

Addie was an avid gardener and enjoyed golfing with her lady friends. She loved thrift store shopping, beachcombing, spending time with her grandchildren and enjoying a great schnitzel. She was known for her artistic talents {painting and quilting} and was always up for her favorite game of Mexican Train.

"What you put into life is what you get out" was always her favorite quote

Addie is survived by her 3 daughters; Cheryl (Kevin), Carmen (Steve), Karen (Scott), her brother Micheal and sister Joyce, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr Hillier, the nurses and all the staff in ICU at North Island Hospital Comox Valley for all of their dedication and care for my mother.
