In loving memory~
Adam Edward Simpson, 83, of Courtenay and Comox B.C, passed away at home at the end of March 2023 of natural causes.
Adam was born on August 4th, 1939 to James Edward Simpson and Florence Mae McKay in Victoria, BC.
Adam joined the Royal Canadian Armed Forces at the age of 18 which brought him to St. John's, Quebec, France, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Holland, and Amsterdam. He enjoyed his time traveling while in the service and was keen on learning languages. He would go on to join the Canadian Forces Base Comox as a Supply Tech. Prior to retiring, he was in charge of fuel tank operations.
Adam was very social and could be found hanging with his peers at a local pub or The Royal Canadian Legion. There he would watch sports on T.V., play poker, crib, darts, snooker, pool, crack jokes, talk war-history, and chase women.
Adam dedicated much of his time to being physically active. Walking, being a recreational distance runner, competing in marathon's and triathlon's, swimming, bowling, cycling, skiing, golfing and playing ball are activities he enjoyed. Adam won a great deal of athletic awards, and was mentioned in numerous newspapers for his involvement in sports. An avid sports fan, he relished weighing the odds on sports bets.
Adam was predeceased by his loving sisters Lois and Flow, nephew David, and many friends. He is survived by daughters Jeanne Marie and Stacey, nephews Derek and Andre, nieces Karen, Gail, Benita and Dana.
He is fondly remembered as a fun uncle, and as the neighbour who would help walk your dog or carry your groceries. Adam was well liked at The Royal Canadian Legion.
