The bylaw area is the eastern 1.03 ha portion of the subject property, shown as shaded on the map below.
DETAILS
- In general terms, the purpose of Comox Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw 1685.10 is to:
- Change the Land Use designation for the bylaw area from Commercial: Neighbourhood to Mixed Use: Commercial – Residential; and
- Change the bylaw area in the Development Permit Area (DPA) map from DPA #5 (Commercial: Neighbourhood & Tourist) to DPA #4 (Mixed Use: Commercial – Residential); to accommodate a rezoning that would permit a six-storey mixed-use building.
In general terms, the purpose of Comox Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1850.43 is to:
- rezone the bylaw area to permit a six-storey mixed-use building, with commercial space on the ground floor and 205 residential rental apartment units above;
- amend Comox Zoning Bylaw 1850 to permit the subject area to continue to allow drive-through service; and
- Add the definition of ‘rental tenure zoning’ to the Comox Zoning Bylaw 1850.

Copies of proposed bylaw, as well as existing relevant reports and documents will be available for inspection at Town Hall, 1809 Beaufort Ave, Comox, between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm. Monday through Friday (except statutory holidays) and at commencing on August 22, 2024. For more information email planning@comox.ca.

- Is received before 12:00pm on September 4, 2024
- Is addressed to Mayor and Council
- Identifies the bylaw under consideration in the subject line; and
