Troy Townsin announces the campaign surpassing the one-million mark during an event Dec. 16, on what would have been Lexi's 12th birthday.

Lexi Townsin’s legacy is more than one in a million. Thanks to her brother’s dedication, the late Greater Victoria child’s memory has inspired 1,016,012 acts of love worldwide.

After battling the rare genetic disorder Blau Syndrome, Lexi Townsin died just weeks before what would have been her seventh birthday, Dec. 16, 2019.

Since his sister’s death, 14-year-old Felix Townsin has been on a mission to raise awareness of Blau.

Last year, he embarked on a campaign of kindness to see people spread 100 acts of love – quickly upped to 5,000.

“(Lexi) had the biggest heart and made everyone feel like the best version of themselves,” Felix previously told the Victoria News. “That was her gift to the world, and even though she’s no longer here, her love continues to inspire everything we do.”

This year, he launched A Million Acts of Love in a bid to have that many documented acts by what would have been Lexi’s 12th birthday.

He more than surpassed the goal, as the world learned in person at the Rainbow Kitchen where the teen and parents Troy and Cheryl-Lynn were volunteering.

Specializing in programs that aim to strengthen food security on the south Island, the Esquimalt-based Rainbow Kitchen features hot meals and food sharing. The organization added 62,000 hot meals to the tally of acts of love.

“I started this initiative to keep her name in our lives,” Felix said. “I’m so thankful to Rainbow Kitchen for doing so many acts of love and I’m so thankful to be here today for this amazing cause.”

Troy announced the official tally, later shared by video on social media.

Officially, the campaign inspired 1,016,012 acts of love worldwide.

Felix plans to push on with kindness into 2025, encouraging folks to join the #Love365 Challenge.
