Hope Afloat, Comox Valley’s cherished dragon boat team for cancer survivors, is recruiting for the upcoming season, marking their 25th year of paddling.
Paddling with Hope Afloat is about more than just the sport, it’s about community, camaraderie, and resilience. The team welcomes all women who have faced breast cancer or any type of cancer, regardless of age or fitness level. They also have a limited number of spots available for non-cancer paddlers, making it a wonderful opportunity for friends to join our supportive environment.
The team paddles twice a week at Comox Marina from March to September, with our 2025 season kicking off in March. Join the team for their first practices on Saturday mornings at the Comox Marina to try it out. As the season progresses, they will transition to twice-weekly practices on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a complete beginner, the team provides all the equipment and coaching you need.
Are you ready to embrace the water and make meaningful connections? If you're interested in paddling with the team or want more information, reach out to membership co-ordinator, Barb, at 250-640-1848 , via email at hopeafloatcanada@gmail.com or .
