The University of Victoria put out a warning to students after reports of drink tampering at off-campus events.

Over the past weekend, the University of Victoria received concerns that students may have had their drinks tampered with or spiked at off-campus events.

They encourage the public to contact police if anyone notices suspicious activity around drinks or if there are other safety concerns. In an emergency, students are asked to contact 911 and campus security.

"There are steps you can take to protect yourselves and each other. If you drink, please pour your own drinks and never leave your drinks unattended," noted a release from UVic.

Anyone who has experienced or witnessed sexualized violence at UVic is asked to contact the Sexualized Violence Resource Office, Student Wellness, Campus Security, and UVSS Anti-Violence Project for support.
