Two more personal emergency workshops planned

Two major earthquakes, one with a subsequent tsunami, have occurred since Feb. 23 in the Ring of Fire that includes the B.C. Coast.

They are a significant reminder that Comox Valley residents must take action by knowing the risks, making a plan and getting an emergency kit ready. You must ensure that you and your family can take care of yourselves for at least the first 72 hours of an emergency while first responders help those in urgent need.

Because of the overwhelming response to March 16 workshops, the Comox Valley Emergency Program will present two additional free personal emergency preparedness workshops in the Comox Fire Hall March 23.

A day session will be conducted from 1 to 3.  An evening workshop will be held from 7 to 9.

The course is free for all Comox Valley residents but participants must register by contacting  the Comox Valley Emergency Program by e-mail at cvep@shaw.ca or phoning 250-334-8890. Include your name and telephone number and what session you wish to attend.
