The Comox Valley Food Policy Council (CVFPC) and LUSH Valley conducted a survey aimed at candidates running in the 2025 Federal Election in the Courtenay-Alberni and Powell River-North Island ridings to gauge their positions and commitment to addressing food security issues in our communities.
All candidates in the Courtenay-Alberni and North Island-Powell River ridings were sent a five-question survey designed to encourage an active conversation regarding candidates' perspectives and proposed policies on food access, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, and related challenges facing our nation.
Candidates were challenged to outline their plan for addressing food access and sovereignty in rural, remote and Indigenous communities, ensuring that Canada meets its climate obligations and increasing the resilience of our region's food supply chain, all key pieces of resilient food systems.
