The Comox Valley Project Watershed Society is holding its 31st annual general meeting June 22, to share information about projects and more.

The meeting is set from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Comox Valley Regional District Civic Room, 770 Harmston Ave.

“We’ve accomplished a lot this year and grown as an organization. We are excited for this opportunity to share our successes from last year and give a sneak peek into the work we will undertake this year,” reports Caitlin Pierzchalski, project watershed executive director.

During the meeting, Project Watershed will share information about their projects including the Kus-kus-sum project, Forage Fish project, and Dyke Road saltmarsh project. As many residents of the Comox Valley may have noticed, the Rotary Outlook platform at the park has been deconstructed and the area is cordoned off. Project Watershed, as a partner in this project, knows about what will be happening in that area.

In honour of National Pollinator Week, keynote speaker Marika Ai-Li, co-founder of the Native Bee Society of BC and Restoration & Monitoring Manager at Project Watershed, will share her passion and knowledge about native bees.

“There is so much to know about native bees,” says Ai-Li, “I will present information on identification, issues they face, and how we can support them in supporting us.”

There will be a native bee display, beverages, and snacks to satiate curiosity and tastebuds.

Everyone is invited to join the meeting and asked to pre-register on the organization's website . Participants can attend virtually as well as in person, however, only society members who are present in person at the meeting will be able to vote.

Anyone can become a member online at .
