More than 250 grads crossed the outdoor stage at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds June 28 as part of the Georges P. Vanier Secondary School graduation ceremony.
The ceremony was hosted by Lee McKillican, vice principal of the school, and the event started with a blessing from K’ómoks Elder Donna Mitchell.
In advance of the commencement ceremony, principal Julie Shields presented the Vanier Summit Shield Award (top all-around student with outstanding achievement, athletics, arts and citizenship skills) to Zachary Rebitt.
Valedictorians Imraan Abdulganiyu and Graham Lee delivered their address thanking parents, teachers, staff and many who helped them and shared memories and anecdote from the past few years.
