Parks feedback sought

The Comox Valley Regional District is seeking public input until Feb. 28 on its draft rural parks and greenways plan.

The Comox Valley Regional District is seeking public input until Feb. 28 on its draft rural parks and greenways plan.

“Residents are encouraged to review the draft plan, maps and survey results on the CVRD’s website and to ask questions, give comments or seek clarification on the plan,” said CVRD parks planner Karin Albert. “Input from the community, partner groups and park users is important and will help shape the future of rural parks in the Comox Valley.”

A series of open houses were held in September to gain input on the draft vision and priorities set out by the CVRD and a citizen resource group. A telephone survey was also conducted to determine preferences for new parks and greenways, and to determine whether residents would support a parkland tax levy to buy new parkland.

Survey and open house results can be viewed at www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/parksplan.

Those wishing to offer further feedback can download a comment form or obtain a hard copy from the CVRD at 600 Comox Rd. in Courtenay. Completed forms or comments can be submitted at parksplan@comoxvalleyrd.ca, mailed or dropped off.
