The Comox Valley Community Foundation is announcing the appointment of Jolean Finnerty as its new executive director, effective July 1.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with this appointment,” said Christine Helpard, president of the Comox Valley Community Foundation.

“Jolean brings a wealth of experience to the position and the board looks forward to working with her as we continue to grow the Comox Valley Community Foundation to further benefit our community.”

Finnerty has an extensive background in fund development, granting, leadership, and communications, most recently working with the Comox Valley Community Foundation as donor engagement manager and prior to that as manager of advancement and foundation for North Island College.

A community member for more than 17 years following two generations in the Comox Valley, Finnerty is grateful for the opportunity to serve this wonderful community.

“I feel very honoured to serve the Comox Valley in this role,” said Finnerty. “And I look forward to continuing and growing the incredible work of our Community Foundation alongside partners, donors, and grantees as well as local business, leadership, and the many nonprofit organizations working tirelessly for the betterment of our people, environments, and community as a whole.”
