Mount Washington opening for sneak peek thanks to early season snowfall

Mount Washington Alpine Resort will open from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1 for a sneak peek for alpine and nordic skiing and snowboarding, thanks to an early-season snowfall.

With snowfall leaving behind a snow base of 258 cm at the mid-mountain elevation of 1488 m, the resort will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m Nov. 30 to Dec. 1.

Mount Washington Alpine Resort will open from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1 for a sneak peek for alpine and nordic skiing and snowboarding, thanks to an early-season snowfall.

With snowfall leaving behind a snow base of 258 cm at the mid-mountain elevation of 1488 m, the resort will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m throughout the weekend; this is the resort’s earliest opening in more than eight years.

The Whiskey Jack and Hawk chairlifts will be spinning, providing access to various beginner to advanced terrain, however, the magic carpets will not be operational yet, and the sneak peek is not recommended for first-timers or tots under six years old. Details can be found on the Mount Washington mobile app for the list of open and groomed alpine runs.

At the Alpine Lodge ticket windows, guests can purchase discounted single-day lift access at $79 for adults, $69 for youth and seniors, and $59 for children. The Season Pass office, Outdoor Elements retail shop, Rossignol Demo Centre and Eagle View Bistro will be open, offering limited service from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tube park, Alpine Rentals Centre, and snow school lessons will not be available at this time. 

The Nordic Centre at Raven Lodge will also open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering over 12km of classic and skate cross-country skiing terrain, and three snowshoe trails. Raven Cafe will open for limited service, as will Raven retail and rentals. Discounted XC trail passes are available to purchase in person at $26 for adults, $21 for youth and seniors, and $16 for children; snowshoe passes are $10 for ages 13 and older, and $6 for 12 and under.
