MLA upset by recallers

Comox Valley MLA Don McRae says he is considering legal action to combat misinformation being spread by the team conspiring to recall him.

Comox Valley MLA Don McRae says he is considering legal action to combat misinformation being spread by the team conspiring to recall him.

The question submitted by recall organizers incorrectly states the Fight-HST group collected 12,051 signatures or 25.2 per cent of registered Comox Valley voters on its petition to repeal the tax.

“It conveniently neglects to mention that about 2,000 of those signatures were thrown out,” McRae said. “In approving this statement with these incorrect figures, Elections BC has allowed recall canvassers to kick off their campaign on a pack of lies. It makes me wonder what other types of lies might be spread on the doorsteps of my constituents.”

McRae will meet Tuesday with Elections BC to discuss the issue.
