John Howard Society of North Island announces new executive director

Tyler Fainstat joins the Campbell River office

The John Howard Society of North of North Island executive director, Tyler Fainstat.

The John Howard Society welcomes new executive director, Tyler Fainstat.

He was previously at The John Howard Society of Ottawa and before that, the Kingston office. Fainstat has spent almost 10 years working abroad with the international medical humanitarian organization, Médecins Sans Frontières, as a project coordinator, country director, and executive director. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Tyler to The John Howard Society of North Island as our new executive director. He brings a wealth of experience and abundant positive energy,” said Colleen Ross, interim executive director. 

Fainstat has a master’s degree in international relations and economics from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree in political studies from Trent University. 

“I am honoured and thrilled to be joining such a dynamic and esteemed organization. I am really looking forward to getting to know all the staff, partners, and community members of The John Howard Society of North Island, and working together to advance the values and mission of the organization,” said Fainstat.
