Grad dresses await students for graduation

Over the past four years, over 400 students in the Comox Valley School District have been dressed to impress at graduation thanks to community members who have supported the district's Grad Attire program.

Through donations, the program has been able to let every student experience the joy and pride of gradutation, regardless of financial circumstances.

"This collective effort reinforces the bonds that unite us as a community, emphasizing compassion, inclusivity, and solidarity," said a release from the school district. "Crucial to the program’s success is the generosity of Comox Valley Dodge for hosting the program above their showroom at no cost."

Without the kind donations from the community, the program would not be able to fulfill its mission of providing students with outfits for their special day. "Every contribution, no matter how small, has made a tangible difference in the lives of our students, empowering them to step confidently into their future endeavours," the release says.

"Thanks to the incredible support from our community and Comox Valley Dodge, our students can celebrate their achievements with pride," said Craig Sorochan, Communications Manager, Comox Valley Schools. "The Grad Attire Program is instrumental in ensuring that no student feels left out on this important day."
