A financial adviser who has lived in the Comox Valley for more than 30 years has stepped into a leadership role with the airport commission.The Comox Valley Airport Commission (CVAC) announced the appointment of director Brad Minton to the position of vice-chair on the commission's board of directors Friday.Minton will take over the position previously held by Daryl McLoughlin, who is the most senior director at the commission.“Daryl has done an outstanding job as vice-chair, and we thank him for providing this board with excellent guidance, particularly during times of transition,” said board chair Ken Dawson. “Daryl is a true leader, and though he has declined to stand again for vice-chair, I am pleased he will continue to serve as a director on the CVAC board.”Minton’s appointment as vice-chair was endorsed at a recent board of directors meeting. The appointment is for a term of two years.As past president of the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce and previous chair of Community Futures Strathcona, Minton brings a wealth of experience to his new role.The Comox Valley Airport Commission is the governing authority for the operation of the Comox Valley Airport.
