Early morning shooting in Courtenay injures man

RCMP still searching for gunman, shooting not believed to be random.

One person is in hospital following an early morning shooting in Courtenay.

Comox Valley RCMP say they received a report of a shooting in the 4600-block of the Island Highway just before 1 a.m. on July 26.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police do not believe this was a random act and are searching for the shooter.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321
