Ovens are warming, tables are being set and chefs throughout the Valley are prepping delicious menus as the second annual Dine Around Comox Valley campaign starts today, running to March 6.

Nineteen restaurants have partnered to offer prix-fixe three-course meals ($15, $25 or $35) throughout the region. Fifteen of those restaurants can be found in the City of Courtenay.

“The restaurants in Courtenay are really diverse and have created unique dining experiences for the Dine Around program,” said Greg Phelps, Courtenay mayor.

New to the 2011 Comox Valley Dine Around is the addition of local hotels and resorts offering Dine Around rates for those who wish to stay out after they dine out.

“With our hotel and resort properties offering great rates for the campaign, it’s the perfect opportunity to be a tourist in your own town,” added Phelps.

The Courtenay Travelodge, Best Western Plus Westerly Hotel and Convention Centre, the Old House Village Hotel and Spa, and the Villas at Crown Isle are participating.

Nearby, Comox has become known for its dining options.

“Our downtown area and beautiful harbour have seen a terrific hub of restaurants and pubs flourish in Comox over the years,” added Comox mayor Paul Ives. “With the campaign running for three weeks, there is lots of time for locals to explore different restaurants.”
