The Comox Valley RCMP's drug section executed a search warrant Friday at the North Island Compassion Club on Sixth Street in Courtenay.
Four people were initially arrested and two of them are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, Comox Valley RCMP said Monday. The four have been released and the two charged were released from custody on a promise to appear.
Several pounds of marihuana were seized.
"The police are concerned the club has become a front for marijuana dealing," Const. Tammy Douglas said on behalf of the Comox Valley RCMP. "We recognize there are conflicting views on the medicinal value of marihuana but it remains illegal to sell in
the manner in which they were conducting business."
This file is still under investigation.
