Comox Valley St. John Ambulance looking for volunteers

Opportunities available for youth, adults

The Comox Valley branch of the St. John Ambulance is looking for volunteers for its Cadet/Youth and Adult Brigade programs.

The group has launched a recruitment drive for the two programs, looking for people who are committed to community betterment and are looking for new valuable skills and experiences.

The Cadet/Youth program is for people aged 10-18, and the Adult Brigade is for those who are over 18. According to a press release, the programs "offer a platform to learn essential first aid and leadership skills, support community initiatives, and foster lasting relationships."

Volunteers can learn lifesaving skills, including first aid, CPR. The programs also offer community engagement skills, leadership development, networking opportunities, resume enhancement and bursary and scholarship opportunities.

"St. John Ambulance embraces diversity and inclusion, welcoming volunteers from all walks of life," the release says. "Whether you are a student, a working professional, or simply someone looking to make a difference, no prior first aid experience is required; comprehensive training will be provided."
