Comox Valley RCMP on the hunt for three suspects after the Leeward Liquor Store in Comox was robbed during the evening of Dec. 22.
According to a release from the RCMP, at approximately 9:41 p.m. two suspects entered the business, at 643 Anderton Ave.
Once inside, they took merchandise and on their way out displayed what appeared to be a firearm. A third suspect remained outside the store.
The RCMP acquired surveillance video from the store, and have provided still shots in hopes of identifying the suspects.
One of the suspects was observed wearing a dark-coloured coat bearing the word “Hilfiger” on the hood. The other suspect can be seen wearing a coat displaying two markedly distinct colours.
When contacted by the Record, the manager of the liquor store (who asked not to be identified) said the robbery happened so quickly, store employees had no time to react.
“It happened so quickly - the staff didn’t chase them out or anything - they just called the police,” they said.
The thieves got away with two bottles of wine.
“It was the closest thing to the door,” said the manager. “They literally just came in, grabbed what they could, and left.”
No staff were injured in the robbery. The suspects fled on foot.
Anyone with information, dashcam or surveillance footage, is asked to call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 and refer to file 2023-20142.
