The Comox Valley Community Health Network, a community-driven network that facilitates collective action to positively impact the determinants of health, is actively recruiting volunteers to join its Co-ordinating Circle (CC).
CC members collaborate to create action plans, support the part-time network facilitator, and help organize and participate in network activities. Made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds, each member of the CC brings unique perspectives, skills, knowledge, and lived/living experience to support the network's goals.
鈥淲e are looking for dedicated individuals who are passionate about the well-being of the community and want to make a tangible impact,鈥� said Danika Lawson, CV Community Health Network facilitator.
What co-ordinating circle members do:
- Collaborative leadership: Make recommendations on the network鈥檚 strategy, operations, and budget.
- Organize and participate in activities: Assist in planning and participating in initiatives and events.
- Support network facilitation: Work alongside the Network Facilitator to help guide the network鈥檚 work.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting in alignment with the network鈥檚 values and guiding principles.
- Providing leadership to the Network Facilitator.
- Actively participating in regular Co-ordinating Circle meetings and working group meetings.
- Leading, supporting, and participating in the network鈥檚 working groups as needed.
- Making recommendations on the network鈥檚 annual budget.
- A commitment of five hours or more per month is required. This includes attending Co-ordinating Circle meetings, working group sessions, and participating in network events and activities.
