Comox Valley resident Brennan Day will be running as the Conservative Party of BC Candidate in Courtenay-Comox in the upcoming provincial election.
Day has lived in the community for 30 years, and works as the Executive Director of the Eureka Support Society. He has education in political science and international relations from Vancouver Island University and the University of Calgary.
"Brennan鈥檚 career includes managing large-scale international projects and founding a successful industrial supply and training firm," a release from the party says. "Since returning to the Comox Valley, he has leveraged his business acumen to drive impactful community projects and local politics. As Executive Director of the Eureka Support Society, he has significantly advanced mental health support and community resilience."
"I鈥檓 not here to play politics,鈥� said Day. 鈥淚鈥檓 committed to putting in the hard work to deliver real results. British Columbians are fed up with leaders who repackage broken promises to protect their pensions instead of addressing the glaring deficiencies in our existing programs. Under the NDP we鈥檝e seen the cost of living skyrocket, drug-fuelled crime surge, and a malaise set in over our shared future. My campaign is focused on practical solutions: enhancing safety in our neighbourhoods by moving people off the streets and into tiered care, and reducing the cost of living through meaningful spending reforms. We can keep repeating the same mistakes and getting the same poor results, or we can vote for real change and tackle these issues together.鈥�
The release says that Day's priorities are creating safer communities by including tougher penalties for repeat offenders, justice system reform, and support for front-line personnel. He is also campaigning on housing, with a focus on cutting red tape and removing barriers to construction to increase the availability of affordable housing, and to reopen involuntary rehabilitation institutions for people living with addictions and mental health challenges. Day is advocating for investments in facilities like schools and rec centres, overhauling the healthcare system by introducing competition, and tackling the high cost of living by removing the provincial carbon tax, and fostering an investment environment to boost wages.
