Land use is a subject sure to draw a diversity of perspectives, and another Interfaith Community Dialogue hosted Saturday by the Community Justice Centre is sure to stimulate that conversation.Stephen Hume, noted author and Vancouver Sun senior writer, is joining the dialogue as one of the featured presenters. His early life in resource extraction communities contributes to his perspective on the importance of the role of economic development in the province. But this is balanced with his in-depth understanding of BC’s natural, aboriginal, and social history.Hume will join several other invited participants from diverse faith and cultural communities contributing their perspectives on the human relationship to the land. Participants from Buddhist, Christian, Ba’hai, Jewish and Hindu faith traditions have already registered.Local environmental groups and politicians have also been invited to contribute their views and to participate in the dialogue.Organizers welcome all residents to share their points of view and explore others, to seek a balance which works for the whole valley.  The dialogue occurs against the backdrop of the Regional Growth Strategy scheduled for third and final reading at the end of next month. The interfaith dialogue, is scheduled for this Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Rotary Room on the lower level of the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay. All are welcome, but advance registration is strongly encouraged by calling the Community Justice Centre at 334-8101 and leaving your name, e-mail address and phone number. Registration is also available at the door from 12: 40 PM in advance of the dialogue start time. This dialogue has been funded by contributions from the Government of Canada and Province of B.C.'s EmbraceBC program.— Community Justice Centre
