Several emergency vehicles including fire trucks, police cruisers and ambulances could be seen shortly after noon (April 7) at the intersection of Comox Avenue and Anderton Road following a two-car collision.
At the centre of the crash scene were several firefighters and police officers huddled near a Dodge Caravan sustaining frontal damages.
Comox Fire Rescue Capt. Pascal Lafreniere told the Record that his team was deployed shortly after the events unfolded.
Lafreniere confirmed that the drivers involved sustained minor injuries.
“We got paged out at about 12 p.m. for a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision,” said Lafreniere. “When we arrived on the scene, we had two patients - one in each vehicle. One (had) a decreased level of consciousness (that) went off in the ambulance and the other patient had some back pain.”
A little before 1 p.m., a tow truck arrived at the crash site and prepared to dispose of the remaining vehicle.
