The annual Cash for Clunkers sale, , is the year鈥檚 best opportunity to trade up your old heap and get yourself a good vehicle.

Galaxy offers $2,000 trade-in value on anything, whether it鈥檚 running or not. 鈥淲e鈥檒l take cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, motorhomes, motorbikes, utility trailers, you name it,鈥� says David King, Galaxy Motors鈥檚 general manager. 鈥淏e creative!鈥�

The trade-in applies to purchases of $8,000 or more. King says depending on what you bring in, they will offer up to $4,000 in trade.

鈥楢 little bit of fun鈥�

Cash for Clunkers is Galaxy鈥檚 biggest sale of the year. King says it performs a public service by getting unsafe or uneconomical cars off the road, it offers fantastic value for buyers, and it鈥檚 even a little bit of fun. Some of the worst vehicles end up on Galaxy鈥檚 newsletter or social media pages.

Galaxy will recondition vehicles that can be made into good cars, but a lot of the trade-ins go straight to the crusher. Last year, almost 150 old heaps were taken off the road permanently. 鈥淲e鈥檝e had people buy junk from the wrecker for $150, haul it in here and get the $2,000 trade-in,鈥� he says.

鈥淎nd then it ends up back at the wrecker.鈥�
