For many of us, the last three months have been an opportunity to reflect and reassess.
Perhaps you’ve vowed to find a better work-life balance, or build stronger relationships. Has your health slipped, either from a lack of exercise or added stress? Do you need an energy boost? Denise Ropp wants to help you get healthier, no matter where you are now.
Her clinic, is offering a small group (10 participants), 12-week, medically supervised program to boost your mental and physical health, called Owning You. The first session starts July 15.
“It’s a great way to get an understanding of yourself and also what goes on in the clinic,” she says. “Then when the program’s complete you can pick-and-choose services that work for you.”
Each week you’ll meet with your group at White Cedar’s spacious for an exercise session led by a specialist who will give you training and tools for lasting fitness. You’ll also receive dietary coaching, learn meditation, and get education centred around one of twelve wellness tools. Owning You also includes weekly biometric tracking through blood tests for cholesterol, sugar and other levels, lung volumes and other medical measurements.
“Every week you’ll come in and take advantage of these assessment tools, so it’s easier to see your progress,” Ropp says. “It doesn’t matter where you start or what you look like. We love working with all types and abilities.”
4 Levels of Owning You
- : “This level is geared towards people who don’t have any chronic illnesses, and don’t want to get ‘em,” Ropp says. If your body is generally healthy but you’re interested in developing good habits for lasting wellness, Original is right for you.
- : If you’re suffering from chronic pain and want to get moving, try this level. Walking, yoga, and gentle range of motion exercises will help your body’s health.
- : Enduring Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or facing anxiety? The Calm You level uses meditation and other tools to relieve stress and find inner solace.
- : Struggling with nutrition? Not sure which exercises will help you get the fitness you’re after? The Healthy You level will guide you on your journey towards wellness, inside and out.
Ropp started White Cedar Integrated Wellness in 2017 and now treats over 7000 patients across BC in-person and online. She serves as clinic director, and her team includes doctors, nurses, a corrective kinesiologist, a counsellor, yoga, mindfulness and meditation instructors, and other specialists.
