Dramatic high ceilings and natural materials are part of what makes Crown Isle’s new show home a must-see.

In 2020, your home became your office. Your school. Your restaurant, movie theatre and weekend getaway. As you’ve called on your house for shelter, have you dreamt of building a sanctuary?

The newest show home at is ready to inspire you, with thoughtful design details and creative technology for all your lounging, entertaining and living needs.

“One of the Galiano II’s strongest features is its great use of outdoor living spaces,” says Jayson Welsh from Crown Isle Homes. “There’s a grill area that’s separate from the patio, so you can work at the barbecue while your guests enjoy the view. There’s another area for a cutout stone fire pit as well. They’re all covered with smooth concrete foundations for seamless indoor-outdoor living.”

Every strikes a balance between sustainability and style, which the Galiano II shows off in the 535 solar panels on the roof. A typical panel wouldn’t match the community’s aesthetic, so the Crown Isle team used the latest technology in solar panels that mimic the shape and look of the roof’s concrete shingles.

“It means the house has 535 small solar panels, and it looks very similar to a regular concrete roof,” Welsh says.

Customize your dream home

The Galiano II is a in support of the VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation, but you can explore the show home and customize your own build with 21 categories of options. Looking for stunning style? The Galiano II boasts a wide range of unique ceiling treatments including hardwood, tray and coffered ceilings, and the entryway is five and half metres high.

“You really get that ‘wow factor’ right from the front door,” says Crown Isle’s Kristy Pedersen.

Natural stone, copper roof accents and a turn-in garage add character and curb appeal. More interested in function and flow? The Galiano II puts the kitchen near the garage so it’s easier to bring groceries into the pantry, and you can easily access your kayaks in the crawlspace from a staircase, not just a hatch and ladder.

“It’s not just about making a house pretty, it’s about making it useful and practical for the way people live,” Welsh says.

Thanks to a hard-working crew that continued building through the pandemic (with extra hand-washing and physical distancing) the Galiano II will be open for viewing this July. Crown Isle Homes was happy to keep craftspeople employed, and is proud to support apprenticeships to grow the talent pool.

“It’s important to keep qualified trades people working and help new people enter the industry. It keeps our quality at a high standard, and makes for a healthier community in the Comox Valley,” Welsh says.

Visit the Galiano II at in the brand new Cambridge Park subdivision (appointments recommended), and explore to plan your dream home!
