On Nov. 7, the will be held at the . This is an event you won’t want to miss if you’re seeking career advancement or educational growth!

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the expo will connect job seekers, students and professionals with more than 20 exhibitors representing various industries and post-secondary institutions from across Vancouver Island and beyond.

“This is a must-attend event for anyone looking to explore fresh opportunities,” says Event Manager, Amanda Perley. “Whether you're fresh out of high school, thinking about changing careers, or just exploring your options, this expo has something for everyone.”

Exhibitors include major employers like RCMP, IBABC, and  Milieu Family Services. Job opportunities range from officers and insurance advisors, to specialized caregivers offering roles for people with diverse skills and qualifications.

The expo offers a unique chance to speak directly with hiring managers and recruiters, allowing attendees to make a lasting impression. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet potential employers face-to-face.

Various post-secondary institutions will discuss programs, courses, and application processes for prospective students. Representatives from local universities, such as Discovery Community College, will be available to answer questions about degree programs, certifications, and pathways to high-demand fields.

“The educational aspect is huge. We want to help people understand that education is a key to unlocking better career prospects,” says Amanda Rogers from Discovery Community College. 

“Many attendees realize they can gain new skills that will immediately improve their employment opportunities, whether in their current field or in new areas they want to explore.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and dress professionally. With free admission, this event provides an accessible way for job seekers to engage with potential employers and educators without the usual barriers.

Past events have attracted hundreds of attendees and this year's Comox Expo is expected to be no different. The venue, located at in the heart of Comox, offers ample space for both exhibitors and attendees.

"Whether you're searching for your first job, seeking a career change, or considering further education, the expo is a valuable opportunity to take the next step toward your future," says Perley.
