When moved to the Comox Valley, he wasn’t just looking for a change of scenery – he was looking for a new way to practice law, one that allowed him to be more connected to the people he serves.
After years spent in corporate boardrooms, advising multinational companies across five continents, Casey wanted to do something different. He wanted to bring that same level of strategic legal guidance to businesses in his own community.
Today, that’s exactly what he’s doing as part of the.
Casey’s journey to the Comox Valley began with a corporate job, but it quickly became something much more. “My family and I fell in love with the community,” he says. “There’s such an incredible quality of life here, and I wanted to be more engaged with the people and businesses that make it so special.”
That desire led him to transition from in-house corporate law, focused on advising single companies, to private practice, where he now helps a diverse range of clients navigate their legal needs.
The shift has been a rewarding one. “In the corporate world, you measure progress by the years and by the miles, so to speak,” Casey explains. “But in private practice, you get to experience the little victories every day. You finish a project for a client, and they’re genuinely grateful. You help someone out of a tough situation, sometimes in a matter of hours, and you can see the immediate impact of your work.”
At, Casey has found the perfect environment to put his experience to use.
“One of the things I love about being part of this firm is that we have a strong, collaborative team. Everyone here brings a unique perspective and a deep commitment to serving the community. We’re not just lawyers – we’re advisors, problem-solvers and partners in our clients’ success.”
Casey's background in corporate law allows him to take a big-picture approach with his clients. “I spent years thinking about legal strategy at an executive level, and that’s something I bring into my practice today,” he says. “I want my clients to feel like they have their own in-house counsel – someone who is always thinking ahead, spotting potential issues before they arise, and helping them grow their businesses with confidence.”
Beyond the office, Casey and his family are embracing everything the Comox Valley has to offer. Whether it’s skiing in the winter, getting out on the water in the summer or simply enjoying the sense of balance that life in the valley provides, they’re making the most of their new home. “Work-life balance isn’t something you have to fight for here,” he says. “It just happens.”
