Property values down in Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland

Home values have dropped in Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland, according to data from BC Assessment.

Data released on Tuesday (Jan. 2) shows the typical single family home has decreased in value compared to last year. Calculations from BC Assessment were made to the value of each home in 2024, according to market value as of July 1, 2023.

Courtenay

The typical single family home in Courtenay fell four per cent compared to market value on July 1, 2022, according to BC Assessment. The value of the typical home dropped $27,000, landing at $719,000 for the year 2024.

Comox

The typical single family home in Comox fell four per cent compared to market value on July 1, 2022 as well, according to BC Assessment. The value of the typical home dropped $33,000, landing at $789,000 for the year 2024.

Cumberland

The typical single family home in Cumberland fell the most out of all three, at seven per cent compared to market value on July 1, 2022, 2022 according to BC Assessment. The value of the typical home dropped $62,000, landing at $788,000 for the year 2024.
