North Island College has announced its orientation day for incoming students to get acquainted with the school. On Sept. 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., new students can learn about supports and services available to them.

Located in Discovery Hall, in the Library & Learning Commons and in the Student Lounge this free event welcomes new students as well as returning students. There are also orientations aimed at international students.

“At North Island College, we believe that student success is built on strong connections, a sense of belonging, and access to the right resources,” said Mez Jiwaji, Associate Director, Student Life. “Through orientation, new and current students will have the chance to meet the people who will support them, whether it’s fellow students, faculty, staff, community members and to explore the resources that will help them thrive.”

The orientations are a chance for students to become connected with the college, their home campus and community partners. There will be a community marketplace, information about supports available, and students can sample food and get swag.

There are also online sessions that run from Aug. 19 to 22, starting at 11:30 a.m.. Students have several options to choose from including: Navigating NIC’s Digital Platforms, Student Life at NIC, Supports for Success and Meet Your North Island Students’ union.
