Bottle queen and mom-to-be Cristal Rossignol spent last week after her time working at the The White Whale to collect bottles from homes in Cumberland in order to donate the money from returns to the BC Wildfire Relief Fund.

In one week, Rossignol collected $600; she has set up an account at the Courtenay Bottle Depot under 478 (BC Fire Relief Fundraiser) with all proceeds going to the B.C. Red Cross and BC SPCA to assist the abandoned animals and livestock which have had to be relocated, as well as evacuees and volunteers, she explained.
