The Conservative Party of BC has named former Alberni Valley Bulldogs assistant coach Adam Hayduk as a candidate for the Mid Island-Pacific Rim riding in the upcoming provincial election.
Hayduk has a long career in youth sports and community engagement. During the 2011-12 hockey season, he was hired as the assistant coach and assistant general manager for the BC Hockey League's Alberni Valley Bulldogs. He spent five years in this role, where he says he "worked closely with local leaders to achieve tangible results" with initiatives like the Bulldogs in Schools program in local elementary schools.
Currently, he is in his seventh season as the hockey director for the Hollyburn Minor Hockey Association in West Vancouver.
On the Conservative Party of BC website, Hayduk says he is "dedicated to making British Columbia a safer, more affordable and better-supported province for all its residents." He identifies three key issues in his platform: the drug crisis and mental health, the cost of living and more support for health-care professionals, teachers and law enforcement officers.
