I COULD NOT believe the person who suggested that the crew who pick up the blue bins should leave them more neatly and pick up anything that falls out of the box when emptying. Are you serious? These guys likely handle hundreds of boxes each day and barely have time to jump on the back of the truck while it is moving to the next house. They do a terrific job, and what is wrong with picking up your own empty box as well as any papers which have fallen out? Along with the hydro crews, I would like to give a belated thumbs up to the guys who do pick up our waste, as well as the postal workers who did a terrific job during the snow and winds in December and January.

If anyone missed it, they had an accomplished panel explaining about fibre animal health care and how to add value to our fleeces. The woman from the Black Creek Spinners was worth the price of admission alone. Great day, great lunch (by the Merville Grannies), great contacts and very well put together.

A HUGE BOUQUET of spring flowers to all the snow soldiers out there who worked day and night to make sure those who had to go out in the snowy streets got home safe. I am so angered when I hear some people do nothing but complain about the snow removal service we have in our community. Shame on you all! They can only do so much at a time and can only go so long without rest. They don鈥檛 have the luxury of being inside safe and warm with their families. Thank you to all those who gave us clear roads.
WALMART PARKING LOT Tuesday, Feb 19 at 2:30 p.m. My purchase was left by accident. I was in a rush, grabbed everything else but said product in a mini-sized shopping cart, parked partially on a snow mound. Purchase was a $30 Conair electric hand held steamer (possibly with receipt). I returned to get it within a five-minute period of leaving it behind and it was gone! To the person(s) who found it, it would be appreciated if you would come forward to return it. Please call or leave it with the Record. If you don鈥檛, well I hope you need it more than I do. If that鈥檚 the case I guess you can say, 鈥淚鈥檝e paid it forward!鈥�
A BEEF TO THE meat heads who leave the ball mount in their trailer hitch in 24/7. Here are four reasons why you should take it out when not towing your trailer. 1) If someone rear ends you the damage will be tenfold. 2) If you back into someone or something the damage will be tenfold. 3) You or people walking around your vehicle can crack their shin or knee. 4) They can easily be stolen. So take your ball mount out and put it under the seat of the truck or with the trailer. Thanks.
THE RESIDENTS AND STAFF of Comox Valley Seniors Village Residential Care Unit would like to send an extra-large bouquet to all those community members who participated in this year鈥檚 Adopt-a-Grandparent program. We were all overwhelmed by the generosity of the community and the thoughtfulness of the gifts! What a bright spot in our holiday! HUGE BEEFS TO THOSE folks who live in the Comox Valley and refer to Union Bay as Dogpatch, Deliverance and, worse yet, The Snake Pit. I live there with many of my friends and consider it a lovely place to live. Also to those who refer to our community leaders as Huey, Dewy and Louey, or The Three Stooges, shame on you. They do the best they are capable of.
HOW BIG CAN the bouquet be to the ladies at the customer counter at John鈥檚 Independent Store? They told me I was being defrauded when they heard what I requested. They were trained to alert us of the signs. Sure enough, they were right. The RCMP and bank were notified. Bank accounts were closed. Their guidance saved me thousands of dollars requested by the fraudsters.
A HUGE BOUQUET to some awesome nurses on the third floor at the Comox Valley Hospital. They let me bring a special blonde visitor to see my mom. It made Mom smile for the first time in days.
